MDSolids is an educational supplement for students taking an introductory course in solid mechanics. This course is commonly called either Mechanics of Materials, Strength of Materials, or Mechanics of Deformable Solids.

MDSolids requires Windows 95 (or Windows NT) and SVGA resolution (800 x 600) or higher.

The MDSolids file will be downloaded in a WinZip file. If you need a copy of WinZip, a shareware version is available from www.download.com

The MDSolids.zip file is rather large. If you have problems downloading this large file, you may prefer to download the four files below which correspond to the four MDSolids set-up diskettes.

After getting the four files on your machine, follow these steps for each file.

  1. Double-click on the Disk*.zip icon to start the WinZip program.
  2. In WinZip, EXTRACT the files onto a diskette.
  3. After creating the four start-up diskettes, run the Windows 95 Add/Remove Programs found in the Control Panel, and start-up MDSolids from the diskettes.


If you are installing an updated version of MDSolids on your machine, it works best to Uninstall the older version first.
