The group personnel consists of 10 to 15 individuals; professors, visiting professors, post-doctoral fellows, graduate students, international exchange students and technicians. Each individual’s training includes education in the highly technical field of advanced materials. Hands-on training with the laboratory testing and computing facilities allows the personnel to engage in design and programming. The well-rounded training plan includes attending conferences, courses and trade shows and meetings with industrial partners. The result is highly trained individuals with a global background prepared for research, design and development positions in industry and academia. In addition to the above training the research group is pleased to offer a program in which students from the Hannover University, Germany, join the group as a part of their curricular research work. On average two visiting students per year are provided with the opportunity to work on projects related to the group’s research interests. Supervision is provided by group members in conjunction with German researchers from institutions such as the Institute for Continuum Mechanics and the Institute of Measurement and Control Engineering in Hannover. Interested students are encouraged to apply anytime. The research group also maintains longstanding contacts with Airbus, one of the world's leading aircraft manufacturers. We assist students in finding internship and carreer opportunities. |
