INEFFICIENCIES FOR NATURAL GAS FLARE WITH VARIOUS EXIT VELOCITIES

  • Flare efficiency is strongly sensitive to cross-wind.
  • Higher exit velocity flares are less prone to becoming inefficient.


 


INEFFICIENCIES FOR PROPANE FLARE WITH VARIOUS EXIT VELOCITIES

  • Propane is less susceptible to cross-winds than natural gas.
  • Shape of curves is same for both gases.

  • Energy content of fuel gas also has a strong effect on flare efficiency
